I started with 1.5 pounds of ground chuck that I LOOSELY formed into three patties. The patties were seasoned with some Plowboy's Bovine rub.
After about five minutes you could hear the plank popping and crackling. A nice little roll of smoke was coming out from the sides of the Weber! I turned the heat down to Medium at that point.
After about 20 minutes the burgers looked great!
These burgers were hyper juicy and the kiss of smoke from the charred plank was perfect.
This was not the healthiest grilling that I could have done. I probably should have used turkey meat and I definitely didn't have to make 1/2 pound burgers.
I will make up for the calorie count of these burgers by hitting it extra hard at the gym tonight. I am starting training for a 5k race in August so this will push me a little harder!
