I have been eating a lot of beef jerky and started playing around with new flavors.

I started with a two pound eye of round beef roast and sliced it 1/4 inch thick on a jerky board.
The beef was mixed with 1 Tablespoon of Morton TenderQuick, 2 Tablespoons of brown sugar and a full bottle of Cholula Chipotle Hot Sauce (5 oz).
The beef was marinated overnight in the refrigerator.

The next day I placed the beef strips on a drying rack in an oven set to 180F. I kept the oven door cracked so moisture could escape.
After 6 hours the jerky was ready, beautiful and delicious!
Beef jerky is naturally lean so it is a great high protein snack to keep on hand.
This stuff is so easy to make there is no reason not to keep your fridge fully stocked!
